Members of the Cape Girardeau Police Department surrounded a residence in the 1300 block of Vantage Drive shortly after Wednesday, June 24, 2020, in Cape Girardeau. Officers set up a perimeter around the residence after a subject with a misdemeanor warrant ran into the house during an attempted arrest and refused to come out, according to Cape Girardeau police officer Richard McCall. More than 10 police cars were observed on adjacent streets as officers surrounded the residence and made contact with the subject via telephone. After about 45 minutes, the man exited the residence with his hands behind his head and was taken into custody by police without incident.
