Krajcir waives right to preliminary hearing

Confessed serial killer Timothy W. Krajcir waived his right to a preliminary hearing Thursday, and the case will be bound over for circuit court April 14. District defender Christopher Davis, attorney for Krajcir, informed prosecutors late Thursday morning that Krajcir wished to waive his hearing. Associate Circuit Judge Gary A. Kamp took the waiver in a conference room at the Cape Girardeau County Jail. Krajcir faces charges for five counts of first-degree murder, three counts of rape, four counts of sexual sodomy and one count of first-degree robbery. Cape Girardeau County Prosecuting Attorney Morley Swingle said the lawyers may request a special setting for the April 14 hearing because of the large number of people who may want to attend. "We will avoid having it be a last-minute thing so people who want to attend can do so," Swingle said.
