Law-enforcement officials are asking for the public's help finding two eyewitnesses to the Monday shooting of a woman in the 400 block of Hanover Street in Cape Girardeau.
The woman was sitting on the porch of a residence at 401 S. Hanover St. and was shot in the head during an apparent drive-by shooting. She remains in serious condition at a hospital, said Sgt. Adam Glueck of the Cape Girardeau Police Department.
A news release from the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Office identified the two witnesses as Deion "Lester" Phillips and Devon "Day Day da Kidd" Smith, both of Cape Girardeau.
The Cape Girardeau/Bollinger County Major Case Squad has been unable to find them for questioning. Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to call the Major Case Squad at 335-6621. Tips can remain anonymous, and no testimony is required, according to the news release.
