Earlier this week, several Cape Girardeau businesses were broken into, and two reported cash being stolen.
Police believe the same person or group of people broke in sometime between when the businesses were closed Sunday and opened Monday morning, according to police spokesman Jason Selzer.
Edgewater Glass Company, 324 S. Plaza Way, and USA Mattress Outlet, 2822 Bloomfield Road, both reported a broken window and an undisclosed amount of cash taken from the store, Selzer said.
While Jaymac Equipment, 300 S. Plaza Way, reported a broken window and items that had been rummaged through, nothing seemed to be missing.
Cape Auto Paint and Supply, 377 S. Plaza Way, and PDQ Quality Printing, 334 S. Plaza Way, reported a broken window, but it did not appear as if anything was stolen or rummaged through, Selzer said.
Police do not have any leads on who may have broken in, and no witnesses have come forward, he said.
