Cape Girardeau police are searching for an armed robber who took money from the AM-PM convenience store at 1101 William Street at about 10:30 this morning.
Police are searching for a black male in a black hooded sweatshirt. He was wearing a green bandanna at the time of the robbery, and police on the scene say he drove away in a long black car with tinted windows.
There were initial reports of shots being fired but police are uncertain whether that took place and whether the handgun the robber used was real or a pellet gun, Cape Girardeau police Cpl. Jason Selzer said.
"We are still investigating," Selzer said. "Nobody was hurt."
