CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo. -- Police are searching for a Steele, Missouri, man charged with the murder of a Hayti, Missouri, man earlier this month.
Pemiscot County Sheriff Tommy Greenwell said a warrant was issued Friday by Pemiscot County Circuit Court for Ratio Frederick Armour, 26. Armour is charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the July 3 slaying of 30-year-old Larry Turner of Hayti.
Pemiscot County 911 received a call at 6:55 p.m. July 3 from a motorist who said he'd saw an unresponsive man lying in the front yard of a trailer home on Route F, just west of Holland. A Pemiscot County deputy went to the scene and found the man, later identified as Turner, had been shot dead, according to Greenwell.
Turner, who had been shot several times, was pronounced dead at the scene by Pemiscot County Coroner Jim Brimhall, and an autopsy was conducted in Farmington, Missouri.
The Pemiscot County Sheriff's Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol and Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control are investigating.
Armour is considered armed and dangerous, Greenwell said.
Anyone coming in contact with Armour is asked to call the Pemiscot County Sheriff's Office at 573-333-4101 or local police.
