Though police have not named any suspects in Friday's shooting death of 20-year-old Chabreshea Egson, they may have found the car used to flee the scene.

Now, they're looking for a bumper.

The Cape Girardeau-Bollinger County Major Case Squad requests the help of the public in locating the front bumper from a 2000 royal blue Ford Mustang. The car, recovered by the case squad within Sikeston city limits, is believed to have been involved in a single-vehicle accident during the early morning hours Friday.

The car was not missing its bumper the day before, said Sgt. Barry Hovis, spokesman for the police department.

Investigators believe the bumper will be found somewhere in Cape Girardeau or between Cape Girardeau and Sikeston, Hovis said.

Whoever committed the homicide may have had the accident while leaving the scene of the shooting, Hovis said.

Police received the call about the shooting around 5:20 a.m. Friday, and responded to Egson's residence at 1523 N. Spanish St. Egson was transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Her autopsy was performed late Friday in Farmington, Mo.

Tambra Turner, a Sikeston woman believed to have broken some windows at Egson's residence about eight hours before the shooting, has not been taken into custody yet.

A warrant was issued for her arrest Friday on suspicion of property damage. Hovis said police are interested in interviewing her because it appears she had an altercation with the victim shortly before the shooting, but that's it is too early to consider anyone a suspect in the case.

Police are still gathering information about the homicide, and are investigating several different possible leads.

No warrants have been issued in connection with the shooting itself.

Anyone with information about either the missing bumper or Turner's whereabouts is urged to contact 573-335-6621, extension 1010 immediately.
