The Cape Girardeau police department responded at 11:50 a.m. today to a report of a person shot at the Quick and Save gas station at 2861 Themis St. Police said they later learned the injury was a self-inflicted wound. Police had received a call from store management informing them that a person claimed he had been shot and sustained a leg injury. police Sgt. Barry Hovis said eyewitnesses at the scene said they did not hear gunshots fired before the person entered the building...

Cpl. Jason Selzer said the police department will seek charges for filing a false report against the man who they say shot himself.
