A Perryville, Missouri, man assaulted two women and fought a male friend in two locations Thursday in Perry County, police said.

Perryville police arrested Kimmy Harold Hershey, 31, on Sunday. The Perry County prosecuting attorney’s office charged Hershey with six counts of second-degree domestic assault.

Hershey’s bond was set at $20,000 cash or surety.

Hershey pushed one woman into a tree about 1 p.m. Thursday at Perry County Lake during an argument, according to a probable-cause statement filed by Perryville police officer Jon-Erik Bradford.

The woman’s daughter tried to intervene, and Hershey pushed her to the ground, Bradford wrote. Hershey also began arguing with a male friend who also tried to intervene, according to the statement.

They all left, but the friend would not take them home because of a fear of what would happen to the two women there, Bradford wrote. He drove everyone to a gas station, thinking it was a well-lit place, according to the statement.

During the car ride, Hershey kept hitting the daughter because she was crying, Bradford wrote.

When they stopped at a Rhodes convenience store, the mother got into the driver’s seat, but Hershey took her purse so she could not leave, according to the statement.

He hit her with a car door, causing her to crash the vehicle into a gas pump, Bradford wrote.

Hershey, the daughter and the friend fought at the store entrance after the daughter went to have the attendant call police, according to the statement. Hershey punched the daughter several times in the arm, and she bit his left shoulder in an effort to force him to stop, Bradford wrote.

The fight continued at the side of the building, as Hershey threw the mother into a cement wall, according to the statement.

Hershey fled as police arrived, Bradford wrote. The two women were treated at Perry County Medical Center for bruises.
