ST. CHARLES, Mo. -- Police shot and killed a road rage suspect Friday during a shootout in the downtown area of St. Charles.
The shooting happened around noon. Police said the man became upset when another driver cut him off. He threatened the other motorist with a handgun, then drove away, striking two cars, police spokesman Donovan Kenton said.
Police heard the commotion and a chase began. The man was stopped in an area surrounded by businesses.
"The suspect was shot by officers when he pointed a weapon in their direction," Police Chief Paul Corbin said.
