Police investigating gunshots fired Saturday in Cape

Cape Girardeau police investigated a report of gunshots fired in the 300 block of Broadway on Saturday evening.

Sgt. Brad Smith said police received calls from people who heard several shots fired about 6 p.m. in the area. There were no injuries and no damage to property in the area, he said. After closing part of Broadway to traffic, police did recover several shell casings. No suspects are identified yet, but officers are following up on leads, Smith said.
