Police are investigating the reported robbery of a pizza delivery driver.
Shortly before 9 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a driver for Domino's Pizza had been attacked and robbed while trying to deliver a pizza to 1001 S. Pacific St., Sgt. Jason Selzer of the Cape Girardeau Police Department said in an email message Friday.
As the victim went toward the door, a man with a bandanna over his face approached him, holding a handgun, while another man stood inside the door, Selzer said.
The armed man ordered the victim into the house and onto his knees, where he hit him twice on the face and head with the gun, causing minor injuries, Selzer said.
The two men took the pizza, cash from the driver's pockets and a cellphone from his car, Selzer said.
The house was vacant, and the owner told officers no one should have been inside the house, which showed no sign of forced entry, Selzer said.
Anyone with information about the robbery should call Cape Girardeau police at 335-6621.
