Cape Girardeau police are looking for whoever broke into Central Junior High School and stole construction equipment and a laptop computer.

About 5:35 p.m. Sunday, police responded to a report of a burglary at the school, 205 Caruthers Ave., said Darin Hickey, public information officer for the Cape Girardeau Police Department.

Officers found someone had broken into the school and a shed on school grounds, taking a laptop from the school and construction equipment from the shed, Hickey said.

School personnel had not been there since Friday afternoon, Hickey said.

Police have not identified any suspects at this time, he said.

Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call the Cape Girardeau Police Department at 335-6621.
