A $100,000 cash-only bond was set this week for a convicted felon accused of possessing marijuana.

Azizi U. Ray, 25, of 124 Lorimier St., was arrested Tuesday afternoon when officers issued a search warrant for his home, according to a probable cause statement. Ray, another man and two women were in the apartment at the time.

A police dog found marijuana in a ceiling space between Ray's apartment and the laundry room, according to the statement.

One of the women in the apartment told officers that Ray gave her $220 in cash to buy marijuana from an individual. The marijuana she bought was later delivered to Ray in a clear plastic bag, the statement read.

Ray admitted to officers that the marijuana was his, according to the probable cause statement.

He was charged Wednesday with felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

Ray pleaded guilty to the same charge in 2003 and was sentenced to five years' supervised probation. He now could be facing up to 30 years in prison for the new charge.

Charges against the others in the apartment had not been filed as of Thursday afternoon.
