Police executed a search warrant Monday afternoon at a residence in the 1500 block of Themis Street and arrested a suspect in connection with a drug investigation, a Cape Girardeau police spokesman said.

The search, which stemmed from an ongoing drug investigation by the SEMO Drug Task Force and the Cape Girardeau Police Department, occurred about 2:30 p.m. Monday, said Darin Hickey, public information officer for the Cape Girardeau Police Department.

Police made one arrest, but Hickey declined to release the name of the suspect, pending formal charges.

He said officers found evidence of a mushroom-growing operation and other controlled substances at the residence.
