Perryville, Missouri, police said they found the Facebook page of a suspect showing his bloody knuckles and a post bragging about the assault he had just committed.
Police arrested Robert L. Casarez, 24, of Perryville on Tuesday, and the Perry County Prosecuting Attorney's office charged him with first-degree assault.
Casarez's bond was set at $20,000 cash only.
Casarez walked up behind Michael White about 1:50 a.m. Sunday on a downtown Perryville street and hit White in the back of the head with his right fist, according to a probable-cause statement filed by Perryville officer Jon-Erik Bradford.
White fell to the ground, Casarez climbed on top of him, and Casarez hit white five times in the face, Bradford wrote. A witness said someone pulled Casarez off White, and they left the area, Bradford wrote.
White walked to the police station at 127 W. North St. and later was taken to a hospital, Bradford wrote.
White's injuries included his left eye swollen shut, a cut to his nose, a cut to his left eyebrow, a cut to his cheek, a concussion, fractured nose and cut on the back of his head, according to the statement.
In the same Facebook post, Casarez said White groped him, leading to the assault, Bradford wrote.
