SIKESTON, Mo. - Sikeston police have arrested a man in connection of an alleged Tuesday robbery but are searching for an accomplice.
James J. Bonner, 20, of Sikeston was taken into custody and transported to Sikeston Department of Public Safety headquarters on suspicion of robbing an 18-year-old male at gunpoint on Tuesday, according to Sgt. Jim McMillen.
Police received a call at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday from an individual who said he had allowed two men inside his home. Once the two men were inside they displayed a handgun and took $130 from the victim. The two suspects then left the area in a vehicle.
Forty-five minutes after the initial call an officer located the suspect's vehicle near Main and Malone streets. McMillen said an officer stopped the vehicle and the driver was subsequently identified by the victim as one of the offenders.
Bonner faces charges of first degree robbery and armed criminal action. Bonner has a bond of $25,000 cash.
A warrant has been issued for Alonzo Simpson, 22, of Sikeston. Simpson is charged on suspicion of first degree robbery and armed criminal action, with a $50,000 cash bond.
