A man accused of selling cocaine to a Cape Girardeau murder victim was scheduled to go to trial Monday in Mississippi County, but now will enter a plea instead.
Armster Robinson III, 20, of Charleston, Mo., is charged with allegedly selling $50 worth of cocaine to Matthew "Woody" Ervin at a convenience store on Bloomfield Road on June 26, 2010.
Ervin died later that night after being shot near the intersection of Park Drive and Fountain Street in Cape Girardeau. He was found dead with gunshot wounds to the head and torso.
Robinson is scheduled to enter a plea on Sept. 13 in Charleston before Judge David Dolan.
Thomas D. Evans, 22, of Bellwood, Ill., will be tried Sept. 7 in Butler County on charges of second-degree murder and armed criminal action in connection with Ervin's death. Court documents allege Evans and Robinson rode with Ervin to the area of Park Drive after the drug sale, where police later found Ervin.
