Southeast Missouri State University will host its annual Family Weekend Oct. 4 to 6, featuring a concert at Houck Stadium and an art exhibition at the University Museum.

Southeast's football team will face the Tennessee State Tigers at 6 p.m. Oct. 5 at Houck Stadium.

The band, Manitou, will perform at the stadium following the game. The band plays a variety of music including country, rock 'n' roll oldies and top 10 tunes. Admission to the concert is included in the price of the football game tickets.

Also on Oct. 5, an open house will be held at Southeast's newest residence hall, a 291-bed, five-story building on Henderson Avenue.

The weekend events will kick off Oct. 4 with an opening reception for an exhibition of paintings at the University Museum from 4 to 6 p.m. The exhibition, titled "The View from Union Square," features 45 oils, watercolors and pastels that capture the changing moods of seasons of an historic New York neighborhood, school officials said.

The New York artist, Violet Baxter, will discuss her art at 5 p.m. Oct. 4. The exhibit also will be open to the public from noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 5 and Oct. 6.

Southeast's soccer team, last year's Ohio Valley Conference champions, will take on Eastern Illinois University at 7 p.m. Oct. 4 at Houck Stadium.

The weekend's events will conclude on Oct. 6 with a 9:30 a.m. brunch at the University Center hosted by Ken Dobbins, university president.
