A Trans State Airlines flight from St. Louis to Cape Girardeau Regional Airport had a scary moment Wednesday when the plane's landing gear deploy light did not activate.

The flight had 11 people aboard including nine passengers. The pilots determined that the landing gear was down and locked and performed an emergency landing.

No one was injured and the plane's return flight to St. Louis was delayed while maintenance crews corrected the problem.

Cape Girardeau firefighters and emergency personnel responded to the incident about 10:45 a.m. Cape Girardeau Fire Marshal Tom Hinkebein said this is the largest aircraft he's responded to with this kind of problem. He said emergency workers occassionaly respond to smaller aircraft with landing gear problems.
