SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) -- Brad Pitt and his partner Angelina Jolie are putting money into a new charity for needy schoolchildren in southwest Missouri town where Pitt was raised.
Brother Doug Pitt announced the Care To Learn fund Wednesday, along with Springfield businessman Jim D. Morris and Springfield Public Schools officials.
The founding donors are Brad Pitt, Jolie, Morris and an anonymous person. They will contribute $3 for every $1 donated by the Springfield community. They promise to contribute up to $150,000 collectively each year for the next three years.
The fund is designed to meet student needs, including health, food and hygiene. Doug Pitt said he recruited his brother's support through the Jolie-Pitt Foundation that funds various causes.
