New photos of a truck believed to have been involved in an abduction in Cape Girardeau have been taken in Anna, Illinois.
There appears to be a large dent on the rear quarter panel behind the rear tire on the passenger side of the truck, according to a news release from the Cape Girardeau Police Department.
Cpl. Darin Hickey, public information officer for the Cape Girardeau Police Department, said Thursday morning no one had come forward with new information to the department.
On Tuesday, a woman told the Cape Girardeau Police Department and the FBI a man abducted her from her vehicle in South County Park in Cape Girardeau sometime between 11 a.m. and noon Tuesday and forced her into a red extended-cab Ford pickup truck.
The woman said she was driven to various locations and assaulted before she escaped in Effingham, Illinois, about 6 p.m.
A news release from the FBI, St. Louis division, stated the vehicle may have traveled south on Interstate 55 from Cape Girardeau, then back to Cape Girardeau before crossing into Illinois.
Authorities were investigating the report but had no one in custody Thursday.
The suspect is described as a white male in his mid- to late 30s with a salt-and-pepper goatee.
He is about 5 feet, 10 inches tall and heavy-set and was last seen wearing a ball cap, light bluejeans and a dirty, long-sleeved top. The suspect possibly is hard of hearing and a heavy smoker, according to the description in the news release.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the FBI at 1-800-225-5324 or the Cape Girardeau Police Department at 335-6621.
