Photo `92 National Juried Photography Show will be exhibited at Gallery 100 beginning Sunday, with an opening reception and awards presentation from 2-4 p.m.
Photographers from 21 states submitted work for the exhibit. Local photographers are Jan Chamberlain of Cape Girardeau, Jay Todd, formerly of Cape Girardeau and Richard Lawson of Carbondale. Judging the exhibit will be Tom Patton, chairperson of the department of art at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
Beverly Strohmeyer, executive director of the Southeast Missouri Council on the Arts, said the exhibit includes current styles, artistic pursuits and attitudes in the field of photography.
"This exhibit shows what kind of work is being done across the country," she said. "The work is sensitive, thought provoking and technically varied, from standard to contemporary."
Gallery 100 is located in the Boatmen's Bank building, 100 Broadway. The Southeast Missouri Council on the Arts is sponsoring Photo `92 with financial assistance from the Missouri Arts Council.
The exhibit runs through April 30.
