Procter & Gamble is moving its production of Always from Cape Girardeau to Canada so it can manufacture more diapers here.
Always, which is a feminine hygiene product, will be produced in Belleville, Ontario, according to P&G Public Affairs spokesman Larry Stahlman.
Stahlman said the move won't affect the job force at the Cape Girardeau plant.
"It won't have any impact here as far as jobs are concerned," he said. "We're not downsizing or anything. It's just a matter of one plant making one product and another making more of another. It happens all the time."
The P&G plant in Cape Girardeau is one of only four to produce diapers. The other three P&G plants to produce diapers are in Modesto, Calif., Mehoopany, Pa., and Albany, Ga.
