PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- A 16-year-old Perryville boy died Thursday morning from injuries suffered in a car crash.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Chad Hotop was killed after he lost control of his 1998 Ford F-150 while traveling southbound on Route B, a half-mile south of Perryville at 7:40 a.m. The patrol reported Hotop lost control and his vehicle went into the path of an oncoming vehicle driven by 57-year-old Bobby J. Bollinger of Scott City. Perry County Coroner Herb Miller pronounced Hotop dead at the scene at 8:30 a.m.

A passenger in Hotop's vehicle, 13-year-old Katie Hotop, was taken by ambulance to Perry County Memorial Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Bollinger was also taken to the hospital by ambulance with serious injuries. A passenger in his vehicle, 44-year-old Patrick M. Minogue of Marble Hill, Mo., was taken to Saint Francis Medical Center by helicopter for treatment of serious injuries.
