A Perryville, Mo., man was sentenced to a total of 75 years in prison Monday for raping and sodomizing an 18-year-old girl in 2011.
Judge William Syler sentenced Bobby Roberts to three 25-year sentences, to be served consecutively, for one count of rape and two counts of forcible sodomy. A Cape Girardeau County jury, hearing the case on a change of venue, found Roberts guilty in June of all three counts.
Perryville police received a report Aug. 10, 2011, of a sexual assault at the America's Best Value Inn on Liberty Street. An 18-year-old girl told police Roberts picked her up at her home in Belton, Mo., the day before, drove back to Perryville and rented a hotel room. She was reported missing Aug. 9 and Roberts was arrested when he attempted to return to the hotel Aug. 11.
Roberts will serve a minimum of 85 percent of his total sentence under Missouri's dangerous felony rule.
