The Scott County Sheriff’s Department announced Tuesday a Perryville, Missouri, man was arrested April 7 in Medina, Tennessee, for a kidnapping that happened in Morley, Missouri, the same day.
Morley police contacted Scott County deputies to assist with a missing-person report April 7. The victim’s residence had been left unlocked, and her purse was found inside, according to a Scott County sheriff’s news release. Police could not reach the victim on her cellphone.
The victim later told Scott County detectives her boyfriend, Clint E. Arrington, 27, of Perryville, woke her up on the night of April 7 by holding a flashlight on her face in her bedroom. He told her he broke in the back door, and she had to leave with him because he had a knife and would harm her family if she did not go with him, according to the release.
The victim said Arrington forced her to leave in a vehicle and drove her to Perryville before continuing to Illinois, Kentucky and Tennessee.
She said he was smoking drugs and was acting paranoid and erratic for the entire trip. Arrington had a store of food and drinks in the vehicle and stopped only for gas. During those stops, he made the victim stand next to him.
Arrington and the victim were found in Medina, and Arrington tried to run away. Medina police arrested Arrington on several charges, the release stated.
Arrington had been arrested March 31 in Scott County for violating an order of protection against the victim and had posted bond April 4.
Scott County deputies have filed for extradition to Scott County. Arrington’s bond is set at $250,000, cash only.
