Melissa Hemmann, executive director of the Perryville Area Chamber of Commerce, will leave her position in June.
Hemmann was hired as assistant transportation director for the Perry County School District and had worked for the chamber for more than nine years.
Hemmann on Wednesday said while she still will work with people, she is switching gears to collaborate with parents and teachers instead of business owners.
Meeting and working with a variety of people was something Hemmann said she enjoyed about working at the chamber.
"I'm definitely going to miss that part," she said.
Those interested in applying for the chamber position have until Tuesday to submit a cover letter, resume and three references. Interviewing will take place next week.
