PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- A traffic stop in Perry County on Sunday resulted with the arrest of a Perryville woman on felony charges of drug possession and misdemeanor use of drug paraphernalia, according to a news release issued Tuesday by the Perry County Sheriff's Department.
Melissa K. Helmer, 33, was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over by a deputy Sunday for speeding on Highway 51, the release said. Helmers was charged with the felony of possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, the release said.
Helmer was being held at the Perry County Jail on a $500 cash-only bond Tuesday morning. A court date has yet to be set.
