PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- A Perry County teenager faces several counts of property damage after police said he was bashing mailboxes.

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- A Perry County teenager faces several counts of property damage after police said he was bashing mailboxes.

Anthony Scott Douglas, 17, was issued summonses for seven counts of property damage on Tuesday, according to a Perry County Sheriff's Department news release.

The charges stem from an incident Dec. 17, when a Perry County resident said he saw and chased two people bashing mailboxes near Perry County Road 816 and Rocky Lane, the news release said. The witness gave chase and obtained a license plate number to the vehicle the alleged mailbox vandals were in and called the sheriff's department.

A juvenile was referred to juvenile authorities in connection with the vandalism.

Douglas is charged with damaging two mailboxes on Perry County Road 806, four on Perry County Road 816 and one on Rocky Lane in Perry County.
