__What do you believe are the biggest issues facing the county and how do you propose to address them?:__
The biggest issue facing Perry County and any county in Missouri relates to finance. As County Clerk,one of the many duties is assisting in developing and managing the county budget. My experience in education involved developing and managing budgets, working under the guidelines of the State and Federal Government. Financial management will always be the biggest issue facing Perry County.
__What are the most important improvements needed in the county?:__
Perry County needs to continue developing its infrastructure, ensure water quality and bring industry to the county while protecting the agricultural community.
__What do you believe can be done to keep the county fiscally stable?:__
Development and management of the county budget is the most important part to keeping the county fiscally stable. My experiences of 25 years in education required developing and management of budgets for the Agriculture Education Department, FFA and Young Farmer Chapters. As the Director of the Career and Technology Center I developed the budgets for 12 Career Education Departments. I have written and managed competitive grants to improve infrastructure, technology and equipment upgrades.
__What makes you the best candidate for the position?:__
My experience as stated gives me a solid management foundation to build upon as County Clerk. Over the 30 years I have had to work under the stipulations of the State and Federal Department of Education. I have a solid understanding of the requirements of the government agencies and know the value of communication and following specific guidelines.
