__What do you believe are the biggest issues facing the county and how do you propose to address them?:__
I believe the most important issue Perry County faces is revenue. I would research more grant opportunities for the county. I would also work together with surrounding county clerks to brainstorm more efficient ways to cut costs and save money. I will address the issues by exploring ways to encourage our community and beyond to support local businesses which would improve revenue through sales tax.
__What are the most important improvements needed in the county?:__
Improvements are needed within Perry County, however, this is an area that needs to be researched and discussed with all the entities involved in the County. If elected in office, I believe familiarizing myself with each entity and discussing the strengths and weaknesses of each area will help make an informed decision. I would also collaborate with the surrounding county clerks to discuss positive changes that can be implemented in our community.
__What do you believe can be done to keep the county fiscally stable?:__
I would not make any frivolous decisions on spending money where it isn't a need, but focus on the areas in our county that might need additional staffing, improvements or upgrades to their facility, or any additional financial support. I would research grant money an also try to get more tax revenue locally. I would be wiling to work closely with the treasurer, to ensure all of the county's money is balanced and accounted for.
__What makes you the best candidate for the position?:__
I have been performing office work for the past 14 years, including daily office tasks and also customer service. The Clerks office is the business office, known to some as the backbone of the county. If elected, my goal would be to continue to be that backbone. I would not come in to office to make many changes, but just ensure that the plans already in place run as efficiently as possible.
