PEOPLE & THINGSA: GROSS SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWED

The Cecil Elsie Gross Education Scholarship has been endowed at Southeast Missouri State University.

The late Cecil Elsie Gross of Jefferson City left provisions in her trust for the university foundation to receive a residual of her estate -- $150,130 -- to establish the scholarship.

The scholarship will be awarded for the first time during the spring semester to a student in the College of Education who has financial need and demonstrates academic performance. The College of Education's scholarship committee will select the recipient.

Gross was a 1942 graduate of Southeast where she earned a bachelor of science in education degree.
