Anniversary marked with wedding ceremony

DECATUR, Ga. -- R&B singer Kelly Price celebrated her 10th wedding anniversary by renewing her vows in front of 300 guests -- a noticeable contrast to that first trip down the aisle.

"I was seven months pregnant with my first child," Price said in Monday's editions of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "I was 19. It was hot. And I was ready for it to be over. Quick."

Price and her husband-manager, Jeffrey Rolle, renewed their vows Saturday at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Decatur. The first time around, it was a Long Island, N.Y., ceremony in the home of a retired judge.

"This was better than I could have ever imagined, and I've had 10 years to come up with all kinds of grand visions," the 29-year-old said.

Prince Andrew let off with warning

LONDON -- Police who caught Prince Andrew allegedly speeding in his Range Rover over the weekend let him off without punishment, news reports said Monday.

Reports said police using radar equipment caught the second son of Queen Elizabeth II going about 60 mph in a 40 mph zone near London's Heathrow Airport on Saturday.

He apparently was on his way to catch a flight to Scotland to watch the final rounds of The Open golf championships.

The Sun tabloid said when police ordered Andrew, 42, to pull over, he declined to get out of his car, saying he was in a hurry. One of his bodyguards talked to police, and minutes later the Range Rover drove away, The Sun said.

Buckingham Palace declined comment. "This is a matter for the police," said a spokeswoman, speaking on condition of anonymity.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said, "I can confirm a vehicle was stopped on the southern perimeter road at Heathrow on Saturday for allegedly exceeding the speed limit."

"The occupants were spoken to by the officer. No further action was taken," he added, on customary condition of anonymity.

British drivers caught speeding can be fined 60 pounds ($90) on the spot; really serious offenders face an appearance in court and a maximum fine of 1,000 pounds ($1,500) or a driving ban.

Actor suggests leaving acting to the pros

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Samuel L. Jackson doesn't think much of the trend that's turning rap singers into movie stars.

"To take people from the music world and give them the same kind of credibility and weight that you give me, Morgan Freeman, Laurence Fishburne, Forest Whitaker -- that's like an aberration to me," Jackson said.

He won't even look at a script that gives a rapper a starring role.

"It's not my job to lend credibility to so-and-so rapper who's just coming into the business."

Jackson has appeared with rappers in supporting roles in films such as the upcoming "XXX," and he applauds Will Smith as a rapper who has won some credibility as an actor.

But overall, he dislikes the crossover trend, he told the Sacramento Bee recently.

"I know there's some young actor sitting in New York or L.A. who's spent half of his life learning how to act and sacrificing to learn his craft but isn't going to get his opportunity ... because of some actor who's been created," the 53-year-old said.

Ford finds more diverse film roles as he ages

NEW YORK -- Harrison Ford says his acting roles have become more diverse the older he gets.

When asked by The New York Times about his career evolving toward more mature, reflective roles, Ford said: "If you're asking me to acknowledge that I've gotten older, I can do that."

"If by mature and reflective, you mean not running, jumping and falling down every time, I've always done serious talking movies, and then a running, jumping, falling down movie, and then a comedy, and so forth," he continued. "Yeah, I have gotten older. But I think it's the opportunity to do different kinds of characters."

The 60-year-old currently stars in the Soviet submarine drama "K-19: The Widowmaker." Other credits include "The Fugitive," and the "Star Wars" and "Indiana Jones" films.

Singer Sheryl Crow learns importance of relaxing

PHOENIX -- At age 40, Sheryl Crow is trying to heed some of her own advice, offered in her latest hit, "Soak Up the Sun," by learning how to "lighten up."

The rock superstar is seeking a better balance between her career and a personal life that has suffered because of long tours and late studio hours.

"I think my relationship to work has really changed the last couple of years," Crow told The Arizona Republic. "I really enjoy it, but it's not the be-all, end-all for me.

"I really have to be conscious of not working as a means of having some sanity and of maintaining my relationships," she said.
