The Southeast Missourian asked people, "What advice would you give to President-elect Bill Clinton?"
Tim Piper: "They need to cut some spending. If they cut their own spending, then we would be in pretty good shape. All the cuts don't need to be the little people."
Marvin Dodd: "I would tell him to keep a strong military. I would hope he would do that because that is the strength of our country. He should also take advice from other national and world leaders."
Frank Smith: "He should turn the economy around in 180 days, but I don't think he can. I hope he can within four years. I think that is what most people who voted for him are hoping for."
Rick Watson: "I would just stick to the key issues that he brought out in his campaign, and not just show up as a true politician. Time will tell if he will do it, though."
Nikki Lorton: "My advice to him would be to work on the educational system. I think you should start with the children and build them up because they are our future."
Kathy Keller: "I think he should carefully review the Democratic administrations from the past so that he won't make the same mistakes. He should take his time so he can make the right decisions."
