The Southeast Missourian asked people what they thought about the political polls this election year.
Dave Buechler: "I think that the polls are not done right, because there is too much variation from one poll to another. It seems like the media is trying to use the polls to sway the public. They can ask questions in certain ways to get the results that they want."
Kathy Kinsey: "With three candidates for president, I think there are a lot of undecided people out there. The polls are going to be very persuasive in how some people vote. The polls have not changed the way I would vote."
Mike Bohnert: "I am a little tired of all the polls that are being run. I don't really pay that much attention to them. I feel that people still have to think for themselves when they are making their decision on who to vote for."
Emmett Baker: "I don't think much for the polls, but I think the polls have something on who is leading and who is not. The people have the deciding vote. The polls could just shatter when they go into the booth."
Fran Rediger: "I think the polls might be misinforming the public. I believe that some people might not vote because of the misinformation that they are receiving from the polls. I don't think they are very accurate at all."
Bob Sacha: "There are so many political polls out right now that I don't think anyone has an idea of what they mean, or if they have any sense to them. They haven't had any effect on me. I think they make the election a lot closer."
