The Southeast Missourian asked people what they thought about Ross Perot officially entering the presidential campaign. Jim Welk: "It could mess things up, but a third choice may be appealing to a lot of people. I don't think a lot of people, including myself, know what he stands for. The Southeast Missourian asked people what they thought about Ross Perot officially entering the presidential campaign.

Jim Welk: "It could mess things up, but a third choice may be appealing to a lot of people. I don't think a lot of people, including myself, know what he stands for. He's hard to figure out, whether he is in for the good of the country or for the good of Ross Perot."

Clarence Schade: "I see Mr. Perot as a very brilliant person, and he has excellent ideas that would benefit our country. However, I don't see how he could govern the country without a party behind him. I think he lost some of his allure when he dropped out earlier."

Charles Balsamo: "Until Perot comes out with some concrete proposals, I am pretty skeptical about his prospects for election. He should have made the decision to run by himself, and not had his supporters come to him. He hasn't made the same effort as the other candidates."

Christine Mizell: "I don't think Perot has a chance. He should never have started in the first place. He paid his own way. Who wants a president who can buy the presidency? A few people will vote for Perot, but many are going to laugh at him. It's really a Bush and Clinton race."

Penny Wingerter: "I am glad Ross Perot is back in the race, because I believe the American people deserve as many options as possible. I was disappointed that he didn't remain a candidate all along. With more candidates discussing an issue, the more it forces them to talk more in depth."

Shannon Anders: "I'm delighted that Perot is running; the more, the merrier. He has really awakened people to get more involved in politics, and I hope it will continue. I think that he can be a spoiler. He won't get enough votes to win, but he can upset the other campaigns."
