With the recent cancellation of the Dennis Miller Show, the Southeast Missourian asked people about their viewing of late night television talk shows.
Bonnie Kinder: "I like to watch Jay Leno on the Tonight Show. I had been a fan of Johnny Carson for many years. When he left the show, I stayed with the show with Jay Leno. I think he's really funny."
Sherry Bohnert: "I used to watch Johnny Carson, but when he left the show, I just lost interest. I just didn't like Jay Leno's style. I don't watch late night television any more. I miss Johnny, but I get more sleep now."
Sondra Gockel: "I just have to watch David Letterman. I like his sarcasm, his unusual sense of humor and his "Top Ten" lists. I watch the end of Jay Leno's show, but mostly because he is on before Letterman."
Arnold Kistner: "I watch Jay Leno most of the time. I watched Carson until he left. I think it's an updated version of the Tonight Show. I think that he is trying to let the guests be themselves like Carson did."
Bari Neff: "I watch Jay Leno. I didn't watch a lot of Johnny Carson. Jay's monologs are a lot of fun. He is brief and lets the guests talk. He doesn't overdo it. If I don't like the next guest, I turn it off."
Derek Ogborn: "I watch Arsenio Hall. I think he's a funnier guy and I like him a lot better. He puts people on the spot, but they laugh and smile. I like how he hounds his guests for information he wants to know."
