The Southeast Missourian asked theater patrons for their opinion of the movie, "Batman Returns."
Jim Williams: "It was very interesting. It showed more of the character of Batman than the first movie did. This movie was lighter and it seemed that he cared more. He was like a person who wanted to help."
Brad Hill: "I thought it was pretty good and better than the first Batman movie. Batman does different things in this one. Catwoman was pretty neat and interesting. Penguin was ugly and mean and nasty."
Julie Logan: "It was pretty good, but I liked the first movie better. This one was a little more violent. It has more humorous parts, but it was a younger audience and the humor went over a lot of heads."
Kelly Ritch: "I thought it was great. It was better than the first movie. I liked the Catwoman a lot. The actress portrayed her better than the one in the old TV shows. Batman had more vehicles to use in this movie."
Jacki Holmes: "I thought it was kind of violent and gruesome. I definitely didn't think it was a show for children. With all the Batman merchandise, they're playing it up for children, and it's not a movie for children."
Opal Horsley: "It was very good. It had a lot of action. I didn't see the first Batman movie, so I probably would have understood it better if I had. Catwoman was something else; she was trying to be good but couldn't succeed."
