The Southeast Missourian asked students at Charles C. Clippard Elementary School about their family's involvement with recycling.
Domonique Smith: "We have a trash bag for aluminum cans that we use to collect them until we have a large amount. I bring them to school when we have a can drive. We also collect plastic bags and newspapers."
Matt Stewart: "We collect plastic soda bottles, newspapers and glass. We rinse out the glass and put it in a box. We put the newspapers in paper sacks. We usually put something out to be picked up every week."
Lisa Serandos: "We recycle newspapers, aluminum cans, glass and plastic. Sometimes if we miss the curb pick-up, we'll take them to the city recycling center. We usually put something out every week."
Daniel Kreighbaum: "We save glass and aluminum cans at our house. We save the aluminum cans for when we have a contest at school. We put some things out to recycle about every two weeks."
Alexis Ramsey: "We put aluminum cans, paper, glass and plastic in different trash bags. We usually keep them under the sink until we have a few. We put them out on the curb about every two weeks."
Jamie Drury: "We save aluminum cans and some other things like plastic and newspapers. We have a bag in the garage for it, instead of just putting everything in the trash. We put them out about once a month."
