The Southeast Missourian asked residents what they think about the United States' level of involvement concerning the conflict in the Yugoslav Republics?
Jerry Mason of Scopus: "I feel we should go over there. They need our help. If it takes power, we need to use the power. We can do more than what we are doing."
Al Gulledge of Poplar Bluff: "We should take care of our own. We should take care of our own homeless, uneducated, and unemployed. We should get a coalition of countries together to help. If we help everyone America will go down the tubes."
Angie Toton of Portageville: "We should take care of what we have at home. Let's not forget about our problems. Military force might control the violence, but not make the situation better."
Mary Thornburgh of Dexter: "We need to stay at home and mind our business. We should concentrate more on our people, especially with all the flooding. They should band together against the enemy. Strength in numbers."
Mary Zoellner of Charleston: "We should help those people more than the Somolians. The people are crying for help. They're being chased out of their homes and violated."
JoAnn Poole of Sikeston: "We should be more involved. They need our help. This is country in trouble. We stick our necks out for everyone else, why not them, too? We should finish what we began. We should try both diplomatic and military approaches, whatever works."
