The Southeast Missourian asked people how they felt about Clinton's family leave program and its acceptance in the work place.
Tracy McLain: "It's a good idea because if someone is very ill it gives you time to spend with them. I think people can have a career and still have their family too. I think it is really a great thing."
Richard Gibbar: "I think it is a good deal. I don't know how it is going to effect industry but it is really something that is going to help the employee. I'd like to see more employee concern these days."
Carolyn Torbet: "I feel like it's a good plan if it is used properly. But I think it places a hardship on the employer and I think there will be those who take advantage of it if they are allowed to."
Charles Anderson: "I think the 12 week family leave program is a good idea. It needs to be passed. If there is a hardship in the family they should be allowed a leave of absence. It's a long time in coming."
Sue Husk: "I think it is a very good idea. Parents needs to be home with their children if they are sick and if their parents are sick they need to be there too. I had to quit work to take care of my parents."
Scott Morton: "I am for the families. There needs to be something done for them and this law could be it. The employer has too much control especially when it comes to a family and their children."
