The Southeast Missourian asked people what they thought about Cape Girardeau police implementing a community policing program and how effective it would be.
John Adams:
"I think anything to help law enforcement would be a good idea. I think that's great, it's a good idea. Everyone should get involved with something like that."
Laura Bollinger:
"They need to do something. I don't know if that's the answer, but they need to do something -- that's for sure. People around here aren't too much for getting involved, but they really need to."
Debbie Ebaugh:
"I think it's a wonderful idea, it's been very effective in other communities and I support it whole-heartedly. I think it would do a lot of good for everyone."
Jimmie Burnett:
"I think it's a good thing. I feel it would be a very good thing because the police could work with the community and develop a better relationship with the people. It all depends on how they present the idea to the people and how many people would get involved."
Fern Loberg:
I think it's a very good idea. I think it could be very effective and I hope a lot of people would get involved."
Jerry Bannister:
"I think it's okay, but I live in Sikeston. I think it could do people a lot of good. I would hope a lot of people would get involved, but that remains to be seen."
