What preparations have you made in the event of an earthquake?
Glen Graham, Cape Girardeau: "We have an earthquake kit packed with everything in it ... water, blanket, tarpaulin. all we have to do is grab it and go."
Gordon Spencer, Cape Girardeau: "We made a plan where we know how to evacuate the house ... where to meet. We've laid aside drinking water, food, extra fuel for cooking, clothing, and we have set aside tools."
Glen Richards, St. Louis: "I haven't. I feel it's irrelevant. There's really not a lot you can prepare for in an earthquake. As far as the after effects, maybe you know if you're going to be homeless you can stash water outside or whatever. The nation is pretty much going to supply that (needed items) for you anyway. What you can stash is probably what you're not going to use anyway."
Tommy Bray, Hernando, Miss.: "I've got food, water, blankets and all kind of stuff like that put up. There are a few things I do need to do to the house, but other than that I've got food stockpiled, bottled water.
Leonard Weber, Benton: "We made some when we had the earthquake scare a few years back. It's hard to be prepared to have one on a large magnitude that will destroy, and I can't stop it from destroying stuff. I live in the country, so most of that (heat and water) I have access to even if my pump would be destroyed. I would have heat in the winter time because I fire with wood. As far as water I've got a hand pump I could use. We have a cellar with our own groceries in it.
Reece Wade, Marston: "I really just don't think about it that much. I think it will happen, but I just don't give it much thought. I was just thinking last night that this would be a bad time right now because of the weather for it to happen. It would really be bad."
