The Southeast Missourian asked children at the Cape Girardeau Public Library about their summer reading.
Carly Trautwein: "One book I read was "Hill of Fire." It was on Reading Rainbow. It was about a volcano. I like to read to my little sister."
Kelly Manley: "I like books about dinosaurs. I read in my room, usually for an hour or two. I also like books about cats. We have three cats."
Matthew Johnson: "I like fiction books. I also like the "Little House" series of books. Sometimes I try to guess what's coming ahead, but it ruins the surprise."
Sarah Oathout: "I like the Berenstein Bears, and the Little Critters. My mom and my dad read to me. I look for books with a gold seal, because they are special."
Jamie Lynn: "I like the Babysitters Club books. It's about some girls who babysit kids and have different adventures. I've probably read 30 of them. I get some books every week."
Casey McCutchen: "I like to read the Boxcar Children books. It's about kids finding out mysteries and solving them. I like fiction and non-fiction."
