Two pedestrians were involved in separate traffic accidents over the weekend, Cape Girardeau Police said.
On Saturday, Arvella Steimle was injured after being bumped by a vehicle driven by Marie Marbrey. Police said Marbrey opened her car door to help Steimle step onto a curb when the car rolled forward, knocking Steimle to the ground. The accident happened at 436 S. Spring Saturday evening.
On Friday afternoon, Dora E. Poole, 71, of 1009 Bloomfield, was standing in a driveway at William and Ellis waiting to cross the street when she was hit by a vehicle driven by Donald E. Hanscom, 750 Strawberry Lane, Jackson. He was backing out of the driveway at the time. Police said Poole was standing in the driver's blind spot when she was hit.
