SIKESTON, Mo. -- A woman sustained moderate injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Wednesday afternoon in Sikeston.
According to officials with the Sikeston Department of Public Safety, the accident occurred around 2:38 p.m. at the intersection of Kingshighway and Malone Avenue, when Elizabeth Green, 46, walked into the path of an oncoming vehicle. Green was transported by ambulance to a Cape Girardeau hospital.
No further information was available as of press time.
Around the same time on Wednesday afternoon, there were two other incidents, one at the intersection of Malone Avenue and Northwest Street and the other on East Gladys. Authorities said the cloudy skies could have attributed to the incidents, for which no injuries were reported.
