Paving work will reduce I-55 in Cape County

Northbound Interstate 55 in Cape Girardeau County will be reduced to one lane Sunday, Monday and Tuesday while Missouri Department of Transportation crews make pavement repairs.

Weather permitting, work on the first section of road -- from Route AB to Highway 74 -- will begin at 6 p.m. Sunday and end at 7 a.m. Monday. Work on the second section -- between Highway 74 and Route K -- will take place from 6 p.m. Monday to 7 a.m. Tuesday. The work zones will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use caution while traveling near the area.
