PASSENGER SERIOUSLY INJURED IN CRASH

SIKESTON -- A Sikeston man was seriously injured Thursday in a single-car accident on Route HH one mile north of Sikeston.

Cortez Baker, 28, was a passenger in a westbound vehicle driven by Jefferson Dodds, 47, of Sikeston, when the crash occurred about 2:52 p.m.

The Missouri Highway Patrol said the vehicle left the north side of the roadway, crossed to the south side, struck a culvert and then a tree.

Neither man was wearing a seat belt, the spokesman said.

Baker was taken to Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. Dodds was arrested for driving while intoxicated and for driving with a revoked driver's license, the patrol said.
