~"A Party and Flower Shop" will open Tuesday at 2141 Independence in Cape Girardeau.

Owners of the new operation are Darlene Williams and her daughter, Robin Farrow.

Both have retailing experience.

"I have several years experience in the retail business and the floral business," said Williams.

Farrow is experienced in party supplies and balloon decorating.

The new business will offer a complete line of party supplies banners, tables skirts, crepe paper, `Over the Hill' items, serving trays and more.

"We will also have a complete floral service, gift baskets, fresh arrangements and custom orders," said Williams. "We will have worldwide wire service and delivery. We provide free deliveries to local hospitals and funeral homes."

Other services will include balloon decorating. "We can provide `stuff-it' balloons, hot-air balloons, mylar and latex balloon," said Williams. "We also feature a number of gift items, including candy, candles and potpourri."

Williams said the company will specialize in weddings, including floral arrangements, invitations, and tuxedo rentals.

During grand opening, the company will offer specials on helium-filled balloons and wedding invitations. Customers may also register for grand opening gifts.

"We'll be giving away a free wedding bouquet and a balloon heart," said Williams.

Hours of the new store will be 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday Through Friday and 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. "We'll also be available evenings and Sunday by appointment," said Williams.
